Sen. Binos Yaroe, representing Adamawa South senatorial zone has lauded the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for compliance with the Electoral Act 2022 and the 1999 Constitution, as amended.
Yaroe stated this in his acceptance speech when he emerged the winner with 232 votes to defeated Mr Peter Fwa, with 55 votes at the of the party primaries in Numan Local Government Area.
He said that INEC has ensured close oversight of the entire process.
Yaroe commended delegates for the confidence response in him to run for the second term and appreciated Fwa for ensuring true democratic practice during the exercise.
“We thank our delegates for performing their civic duties and discharging their onerous task exceptionally well.
“We also thank the Electoral Panel for conducting a transparent, free and fair primary election.
“Today, I have been nominated by our elected delegates for a second term and I strongly believe we shall win again at the General Election in February 2023.
“That will not be possible unless we harness the stupendous Goodwill which the PDP administration in Adamawa State has built over the last 3 years”, he said.
Yaroe also expressed his most sincere gratitude to Gov. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for giving them an environment that enabled them excel in following his example and serving the people at the grassroots.
He said “by the grace of God, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President will win the ticket of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party, and lead us to a resounding victory in the 2023 Presidential election.
“The PDP will form the Government at the Federal level and also control more than 2 thirds of the Governorship seats.
“We shall return the Fresh Air Governor for a second term” he said
He further acknowledged the role of the media and security agencies in maintaining law and order and ensuring the process was done in a peaceful atmosphere.
