Gary Neville, a former Manchester United defender, has advised the club to sell four players in order to gather funds for an offer for Tottenham Hotspur attacker Harry Kane.
Anthony Martial, Daniel James, and Jesse Lingard are among the players that should make way for Kane, according to Neville.
This summer, United acquired Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund and Raphael Varane from Real Madrid.
Kane wants to join Manchester City, but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is adamant on keeping the England captain, even if a £150 million deal comes through this week.
However, Neville has urged United to put a bid for Kane on the table to test Tottenham’s resolve.
“I think Manchester United will need a centre forward in the next 12 months, the guy is available now if you pay £150m.
“You’ve got Martial, James, Mata and Lingard who I think, to be fair, we could do without them at the club.
“I personally think Kane coming in [to United] would be a differentiator,” Neville said on Sky Sports.
